I have been reading some of the comments and would like to clarify a few things. First it is believed that there are probably more people who do suffer from cluster, including women like myself that have just not been diagnosed or wrongly diagnosed since clusters are so hard to diagnose. I myself was misdagnosed up until 6 yrs ago and then found my fabulous neurologist Dr. Witt here in Alberta along with my life and sanity. Cluster headaches are not genetic like migraine they are (not to diminish other peoples pain) way more painful than a migraine, hence the name "suicide headache". I have gone from being "episodic" to "chronic" which basically means we are always trying to find a way to break the cycle!!! The last time just about killed me, they tried me on this therapy called DHE, horrible stuff, and because I had such a reaction just to the 1st treatment we couldn't go any further. To all you cluster suffers out there my heart and soul are with you, and to all the wives and husbands and children and family that stand beside you stay strong for them my prayers are with you. I have actually never met another person that suffers from cluster headaches and in my clinic that I go to, there is only one other female patient besides myself.
